The rooms with super comfy beds, the bedroom plus all modern amenities. Downtown area, nice location, close to the French Bakery / Coffee Shop nearby and Canada. Amazing food in the restaurants such as Spice Hut Indian Cuisine, located 5 min away.

Interesting decoration, ambiance
Air conditioned appliance quite old and noisy. The room was stuffy. Maid forgot to do the room (shocking for a non-budget hotel! 1St time I've seen it in all my years of travelling). Manager had to do it, but she was not quite surprised and wondered if the room was partially done(?) how can a room be partially done? Looks like staff is an issue ... Breakfast included in the room price, but actually it was part of an agreement with the pub, so we got a voucher of $7.00. This amount is insufficient for the cheapest breakfast option, and the food was very plain, insufficient and expensive (bottom line:mediocre). The positive note is that the manager graciously acknowledged the complaints and gave a discount on the room price to compensate the shortcomings.

It was clean, intentionally rustic but not old, has onsite restaurant and price was reasonable. Room had fridge, coffee maker, kettle, wine glasses, bathrobes and needed toiletries.
The room was small as was the bathroom. Location is on Bow Valley Trail as are most hotels in Canmore but because of the train tracks running through the middle of town, getting to downtown requires a considerable walk as there are no crossings except at the east and west ends of Railway Avenue. On a warm summer day that would not be a big deal but on a cool drizzly day it meant driving and finding parking dt.

quaint features, beautiful fireplace, charming decor
Check-in experience needs to be smoother!!! Really noisy air conditioning ruined restful nights, and room cleanliness could use serious improvement with unaddressed trash and dirty dishes!!!

It had character and atmosphere without seeming contrived. The food from excellent in the pub.

The hotel represents very poor value for money. The adverts (including breakfast) are misleading, as you only get a small allowance towards breakfast, you have to purchase everything else to make areasonable breakfast. Our room had no air conditioning it did not work, and a fire on which could not be turned off without the aid of sticky tape. The outside temperature was 25-28c. Generally the standard would not equate to a 3* hotel in Europe.

I stayed in a King Room and found it super comfy! The bed was amazing, and the efficient heater kept the room nice and toasty. Loved the tea-making setup and those delicious cookies they left for us. The powerful shower was a game-changer too. Only downside was no microwave in the room, which would've been handy. The historical vibe of the place was such a nice touch.

This is the second time we stayed - rooms are comfortable with soft sheets and good beds. The staff is always very accomadating and friendly. The place has an intimate feel of a B and B with great access to Banff. Pub has fantastic food, too. All in all, I appreciate the hot showers, sitting areas and free internet access. We don't feel the need to shop around for another place to see the Canadian Rockies.

Loved our little suite, complete with wine glasses and fireplace and settee. Helpful staff and $7 each toward breakfast which ranged in price from $5-$12.
Trains went by in the night, but no avoiding that in Canmore.
